Then a new land is settled and it has a ton of immigrants who all muddle their languages but somehow learn slang super easy, like we all learn new languages, so we are left with dollar meaning money when it originally was a silver mine in a valley from around Charlemagne.

My friend was desperate for work and found a job with a veterinarian. The job was a vet tech but the work was euthanizing dogs and puppies for the county. He quit after a few months and has never been the same.

That she also can’t fathom why people are upset at her while she tweets her poorly thought out crap to a dispassionate audience is killing her.

Taxes aren’t a burden. They are an easy way to pay for the things we all use like roads, public services, parks, and the infrastructure to run it all.

Calling taxes a “burden” plants the idea that taxes have no use and are unfair. Taxes are only as fair as the people make them - vote.

Gotta love that 4 of those sauces helped make French cooking the powerhouse it is today. Then there’s tomato sauce. It’s indispensable and nothing compares to it, which is probably why it was given such a plain name. It’s begrudgingly accepted.

Authoritarians are both more likely to work in government intelligence and investigation agencies while also being unable to imagine any other way of society working besides what they have. Authoritarians are unimaginative and forceful and don’t want to give up their special place in society where they make rules for others and can be excepted from those rules by their friends who enforce the rules. The authorities are terrified of being treated like the civilian population they think they rule.
